By accessing or using the Révèle website (revelemagazine.com), submitting work, or subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

Révèle is an independent visual arts magazine founded and operated by Ebrahim Kassem, based in Doha, Qatar. References to "Révèle", "we", "us", or "our" refer to Révèle Magazine.

By submitting work to Révèle you confirm that:

• You are the original creator of all submitted images, or hold all necessary rights and permissions.
• All individuals pictured have given informed consent to be photographed and published.
• The work has not been previously published in any print or digital magazine.
• You hold the copyright to your submitted images and retain all intellectual property rights.

Submitting work to Révèle does not transfer copyright ownership. If your work is accepted, you grant Révèle a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, display, and distribute the selected images and accompanying text in the relevant issue in print and digital formats, and to promote the publication on social media and marketing channels. Exclusivity expires upon publication; you are then free to share your work freely.

Révèle reserves the right to accept or decline any submission at its sole editorial discretion, without obligation to provide detailed reasons. Submission does not guarantee publication. We review every submission personally and respond within 7–10 business days.

You may not submit content that:

• Depicts minors in a sexualised or exploitative manner.
• Constitutes hate speech, harassment, or discrimination.
• Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Was taken in circumstances where subjects had a reasonable expectation of privacy and did not consent.
• Is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful.

Submissions violating these terms will be permanently declined and, where required by law, reported to the appropriate authorities.

Révèle is an independent publication in its launch phase. We do not currently offer monetary payment for published work. Featured photographers receive full credit in print and digital editions, a digital tearsheet, and promotion across all Révèle channels. This may change in future issues.

By subscribing to our newsletter you consent to receive editorial updates, issue announcements, and open-call notifications from Révèle. You may unsubscribe at any time by emailing inquiries@revelemagazine.com with the subject "Unsubscribe".

Révèle provides this platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this platform or the loss of submitted work due to technical failure. Always retain copies of your original files.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Qatar.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page. Continued use of Révèle after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Révèle Magazine is an independent visual arts publication operated by Ebrahim Kassem ("we", "us", "our"). Our website is revelemagazine.com and our contact email is inquiries@revelemagazine.com.

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how it is stored, and your rights over it.

Submission data: When you submit work we collect your full name, email address, optional Instagram handle, series title, team credits, and optional written story. This data is stored securely in our database to facilitate our editorial process.

Newsletter data: When you subscribe we store your email address to send you editorial updates. Nothing else.

Technical data: Our server logs standard HTTP request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and uptime monitoring. This is not used for profiling.

Cookies: We use essential cookies required for the submission system to function. With your consent, we may also use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics.

• Submissions: To review your work, communicate editorial decisions, and if accepted, arrange publication.
• Newsletter: To send issue announcements and open-call notifications.
• Security: To detect and prevent abuse or spam submissions.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party services that may process limited data:

• Render.com — our API server hosting provider. Server logs may be stored on their infrastructure.
• Discord — we receive internal submission notifications via a private Discord webhook. No personal data is shared publicly; webhook messages are visible only to our editorial team.
• Google Fonts — we load Cormorant Garamond and Inter fonts from Google's CDN. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.

Submission data is retained for the duration of the editorial cycle plus up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

Submissions are stored in a secured database with access restricted to authorised editorial staff only, protected by bearer-token authentication. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Passwords and credentials are never stored in plain text.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

Under GDPR and applicable privacy law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate data.
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your data.
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Object to processing of your data.
• Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email inquiries@revelemagazine.com with the subject "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.

Essential cookies (always active): These are required for the submission and tracking systems to function. They do not track you for advertising.

Analytics cookies (optional, consent required): If you Accept All, we may use lightweight, anonymised analytics to understand page usage. You can withdraw this consent at any time by clearing your cookies or clicking "Essential only" in the cookie banner.
